For the second half of our trip, we ventured to Southern Turkey to enjoy some time by the Mediterranean. Within the pretty large city of Antalya is the old city, a walled-in village filled with shops, restaurants, hotels, and some ruins. We all fell in love with Antalya pretty immediately. It is quaint, warm, beautiful, and just has a magical feeling about it.

Our last stop in Turkey was Kas (pronounced Kash), a small town also on the Mediterranean. The plan for this part of the trip was to relax, rest, and recuperate after traveling all around Istanbul and Antalya. It was definitely in our best interest that we didn't have big plans upon arrival in Kas because the drive to Kas was 3 hours, in a mini-van, with a driver who really liked to speed while practicing his hair-pin turns on the sea-side highway. With a crying baby. Luckily we made it to Kas in one piece (and with a great song Jamie made up about the beautiful land of Kas which thankfully warded off about 30 minutes of tears). We were there at the tail end of their tourist season which meant we had perfect weather and the place to ourselves. It was truly wonderful.
